Yoga Made Easy

Yoga Made Easy
PRENTICE-HALL, INC. || Author: Englewood Cliffs, N.J. || English || PDF || 118 Pages || 1.26 MB

What Yoga Can Do for You
Yoga is an ancient health-art developed and perfected over the centuries by the Sages and Wise Men of ancient India. Yoga is _not _a religion, a metaphysical doctrine, or a philosophy. It is not magic or mysticism, although the amazing improvements it can make in your health, your appearance and your youthfulness may often seem magical, even miraculous. For thousands of years the Yogis of India have used the simple, reasonable principles of Yoga to regain the zest and enthusiasm and good health of their youth, to preserve into middle age the clear-thinking and sound physique of manhood, and to continue enjoying _even in old age _ the resilience, healthfulness, and well-being of their younger years. Yoga can take years off your face and years from your body--and add years to your life. There are certain secret methods by which the Yogis keep the flexibility and "spring" of early youth in their joints and muscles and limbs well into the declining years. It is a common sight to see, in the crowded, colorful strets of Bombay or New Delhi, Yogis well into their seventies and even their eighties, with the straight, graceful posture of a boy, walking with the elastic, springy step of youth... with firm, healthy bodies, their hair dark and glossy and un-streaked with grey. Firm, unlined faces .. . clear, undimmed eyes. Not only does Yoga make you look and feel years younger, years healthier, but it lends your body superb healthiness. This system of Yoga does not demand difficult positions and postures, uncomfortable exercises or strenuous diets. This is where it differs from every other book on Yoga previously published. It describes the simple, easy, "common sense" secrets of _using the natural health God gave you. _It works like magic because it enables the body to realize its full potential of good health. You know that Nature built into your body certain natural safeguards against disease, certain "defense mechanisms" for self-repair. Well, modern Yoga helps the body's machinery function smoothly, efficiently, at
pet performance. It encourages your body to derive every last possible atom of nutritive value from the food you now eat (so different from the natural diet of your ancestors) ... to get every second of refreshment and rest from your sleep ... to attain regularity, relief from little aches and pains, the ability to sleep deep and wake refreshed that can make the difference from feeling "pretty good" to feeling "terrific!" Yoga assists _all _your muscles and bones and organs to operate at top masculine or female vigor. Yoga stimulates into peak performance the latent abilities of your body to throw off the attacks of disease, the psychosomatic "nervous illnesses" that nag and plague millions. Do you suffer from insomnia, "nerves"? Are you without appetite? Do you find it hard to relax? Do you smoke too much, feel "worn out" by afternoon, find as you grow older that you cannot enjoy full life and day to day vitality? Yoga has the...............

C Programming for Microcontrollers

C Programming for MicrocontrollersSmiley Micros || ISBN: 0-9766822-0-6 || Author: Joe Pardue || English || PDF || 300 Pages || 8.92 MB

Introduction
C Programming and microcontrollers are two big topics, practically continental in size, and like continents, are easy to get lost in. Combining the two is a little like traipsing from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego. Chances are you’ll get totally lost and if the natives don’t eat you, your infected blisters will make you want to sit and pout. I’ve been down this road so much that I probably have my own personal rut etched in the metaphorical soil, and I can point to all the sharp rocks I’ve stepped on, all the branches that have whacked me in the face, and the bushes from which the predators leapt. If you get the image of a raggedy bum stumbling through the jungle, you’ve got me right. Consider this book a combination roadmap, guidebook, and emergency first aid kit for your journey into this fascinating, but sometimes dangerous world. I highly recommend that you get the book, ‘The C Programming Language – second edition’ by Kernighan and Ritchie, here after referred to as K&R. Dennis Ritchie, Figure 1, wrote C,
and his book is the definitive source on all things C. I have chosen to follow that book’s organization in this book’s structure. The main difference is that their book is machine independent and gives lots of examples based on manipulating text, while this book is machine dependent, specifically based on the AVR microcontroller, and the examples are as microcontroller oriented as I can make them.

How To Access Your Hidden Brain Power

Brain PowerJohn Wiley & Sons, Inc. || ISBN: 978-0-471-78862-1 || Author: Jamie Nast || English || PDF || 290 Pages || 2.46 MB

Introduction
“Something is happening. We are becoming a visually mediated society. For many, understanding of the world is being accomplished, not through words, but by reading images.”
—Paul Martin Lester, “Syntactic Theory of Visual Communication”

Linear communication, linear thinking, linear problem solving, linear note taking—these are not re?ections of how our brain was designed to process information most effectively. Sadly, linear communication is the primary tool that 98% of the world is still using in business, education, and life. From youth, we have been taught in ways that deter us from using our full spectrum of cortical skills. According to a recent article published by Hewlett-Packard, studies show that people remember 10% of what they hear, 20% of what they read, but about 80% of what they see and do. This book will teach you a revolutionary new skill that will combat underutilization of the brain and signi?cantly improve thinking and learning by combining seeing and doing. In today’s world individuals are constantly asked to do more with less, to squeeze 12 hours of productivity into an 8-hour day, to creatively solve problems, to market new products, to continually be learning and developing professionally, to streamline processes, to
lan projects that incorporate understanding and buy-in from the entire team, and to try to balance all of these things with a personal life. Idea mapping is a revolutionary way of effectively meeting all these demands and doing so in a way that energizes you and makes you more creative than ever before. An idea map is a colorful, visual picture of the issue at hand—all on a single sheet of paper. This frees the brain to think, see, and understand in ways that cannot happen with a multipaged linear document of the same information. It breaks the tradition of linear thinking and provides a way for individuals and teams to plan, learn, increase productivity, save time, improve recall, and create using the logic of association and the full range of cortical skills. Everyone exposed to idea mapping has found it has transformed his or her life. It works so well (seemingly miraculously) that America’s major corporations, institutes, and schools have hired me to train their employees. Some of these organizations
include: American Bankers Association, Association of Christian Schools International, BMC Software, British Petroleum, ConocoPhillips, DTE Energy, Franklin Templeton, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, L. L. Bean, Macomb Intermediate School District, MARC Advertising, Mayo Clinic, Middle Tennessee State University, Operation Smile, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Saline Leadership Institute, Software Spectrum, The Dwight School, U.S. Army Ammunition Management, University of Pittsburgh Institute For Entrepreneurial Excellence, and Willow Run High School.

Nutrition For Dummies

Nutrition For Dummies Wiley Publishing, Inc. || ISBN: 978-0-471-79868-2 || Author: Carol Ann Rinzler || English || PDF || 409 Pages || Size: 5.10 MB

Introduction
Once empty stomach or just for the pleasure of it. Nobody said, “Wow, that cream soup is loaded with calories,” or asked whether the bread was a highfiber loaf or fretted about the chicken being served with the skin still on. No longer. Today, the dinner table can be a battleground between health and pleasure. You plan your meals with the precision of a major general moving his troops into the front lines, and for most people, the fight to eat what’s good for you rather than what tastes good has become a lifelong struggle. This book is designed to end the war between your need for good nutrition and your equally compelling need for tasty meals. In fact (listen up, here!), what’s good for you can also be good to eat — and vice versa.

About This Book
Nutrition For Dummies, 4th Edition, doesn’t aim to send you back to the classroom, sit you down, and make you take notes about what to put on the table every day from now until you’re 104 years old. You’re reading a reference book, so you don’t have to memorize anything — when you want more info, just jump in anywhere to look it up. Instead, this book means to give you the information you need to make wise food choices — which always means choices that please the palate and soul, as well as the body. Some of what you’ll read here is really, really basic: definitions of vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and — can you believe this? — plain old water. You’ll also read tips about how to put together a nutritious shopping list and how to use food to make meals so good you can’t wait to eat them. For those who know absolutely nothing about nutrition except that it deals with food, this book is a starting point. For those who know more than a little about nutrition, this book is a refresher course
to bring you up to speed on what has happened since the last time you checked out a calorie chart.

Expert Shell Scripting

Expert Shell ScriptingApress || ISBN: 978-1-4302-1841-8 || Author: Ron Peters || English || PDF || 282 Pages || Size: 1.41 MB

Introduction
I learned the basics of programming when I was in school; I learned how to shell-script by example.
I’ve met and worked with many system administrators and other *NIX folks, each of whom has their own bag of tricks when it comes to managing a system, interacting with their environment, or coding a script. It’s always very useful to have conversations and interact with people like this because you invariably gain some tidbits that you can throw into your own collection of tricks. I decided to collect all the useful shell-scripting and interaction techniques I have learned through the years and combine them into one beneficial reference guide. In fact, I used some of my own notes about those techniques while writing this book. Since I haven’t memorized everything present in this book, I would periodically look up items when I was working on various tasks. I want this book to be the beginning of a higher-level reference library that can be added to and can grow continually. You might be aware of the large number of shell-scripting books and online resources aiding in the mastery of shell scripting. Many are
excellent and cover a wide range of topics. The main purpose of this book is to combine some of the most unique tools, code snippets, and scripts that go beyond the level of basic scripts. I wanted to create a cookbook of sorts— lesser-known recipes and fairly advanced algorithms that have proved useful to me. I have included scripts you can use as is, and sample scripts illustrating a specific algorithm. I also demonstrate a few complex commands that may be useful on the command line. I have tried to tailor the scripts to be useful at multiple levels. Most times, however, there is little or no error-checking since that is not necessarily the point of a specific script. You must be prepared to make modifications to fit your local environment.

INTRODUCTION
HOW TO USE THIS BOOK
What do comfort and feeling good have to do with learning? Lots! When you have the right attitude and can focus on your studying in a style that’s right for you, you learn more with seemingly less effort. In the 20 minutes a day that you’ll spend with this book, you’ll learn how to learn!
To get the most out of studying, you need to find what works best for you. Other people can’t tell you how to study. All they can do is to tell you what works for them. If you learn the same way as they do, their tips might be helpful. But if your style is different from theirs, those tips might not be very useful to you. In fact, they might even be a waste of your time.
